I’m not a mattress expert. I don’t even understand what people mean by firm and soft. I can say this mattress is quite soft. Sleep was comfortable. Placed it on an iron frame bed which didn’t have a flat surface. The gaps were felt due to it’s softness. I think it’s better suited for flat surface beds. Thickness is good.
